If you've got a client to impress or a hot date, this is the place to whisk them. 1 Lombard Street Restaurant, in the City, is housed in a former banqueting hall, with a Grade II listed neo classical interior and domed skylights by Pietro Agostini. Although ultra-spacious in feel - with a 20ft-high ceiling, and ample space between tables - the restaurant is welcoming. Filled with light and blessed with high ceilings and well spaced out tables - good for private deals - it is a Michelin-starred world away from some of the more canteen style establishments in the fast-paced area.

The flamboyant Soho restaurateur Aldo Zilli is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his restaurant Zilli Fish on Brewer Street in London. Aldo Zilli made his reputation with cookbooks that took the mystique out of Mediterranean fish cooking: simple, hearty dishes that anyone could prepare.
